Learn about the history of Merlo Castle
Villa Merlo or Merlo Castle as it is also called was built in 1883-1885 in Timrå parish by Fredrik Bünsow, one of Sweden's sawmill patrons. The architects were Isak Gustaf Clason and Fritz Eckert. Bünsow also built Bünsowska huset on Strandvägen, Stockholm shortly after the completion of the castle.

Fabulous
Very nice apartment. Nice and cozy decorated. Plus for coffee that was included. The location at the castle and the beautiful park is also a big plus. The beds are very comfortable. Jenny and family are quick to respond to questions via the message function, and very nice and helpful. Feedback I sent to the landlord was lack of paper towels, but otherwise nothing to complain about.

Bardzo sympatyczny domek, w pełni wyposażony w spokojnej okolicy. 2 pokoje, kuchnia, pralnia, łazienka. Niesamowicie wygodne łóżka. Polecam i dziękuję za gościnę!
Wow! So wow! We stayed one night in the corner suite. It was a fantastic experience. The room was tastefully decorated with several luxurious details such as crystal chandelier in the toilet. The bed, which you had to make yourself, was big and comfortable. There was a small fridge with Ramlösa available and small chocolates, felt very luxurious and welcoming. In the large beautiful garden, the children could run off at sunset and the evening just felt "too good to be true". Highly recommend!
We rented the servants' quarters at the castle and are incredibly happy with our stay! The accommodation was fresh, tastefully decorated in a beautiful castle style and was perfect for our family. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the kids loved being able to run freely in the park and play in the nice playground. It was also very affordable. We would love to come back - and next time we would love to stay even more nights!
Very nice castle worth driving hundreds of kilometers for. The gardens as well as the castle are regularly well cared for by the owner. Also available cafe nearby. Highly recommend to visit.

Merlo Castle is really something very special, a knightly romantic castle with battlements and towers - in Timrå! I traveled with three children and stayed one night in the Corner Suite all four, it was super! Private entrance, large spacious and very beautiful room, wonderful bathroom and so high ceilings. Practical with coffee machine, kettle and mini fridge, we had breakfast with us. We would love to come back!
We had a fantastic cozy weekend! The boys were at the hockey cup and slept on an air mattress while we girls slept like queens 🥰 Perfect with our own kitchen too, I think. Calm and peaceful!
It's great that it really looks like a castle.
